It is designed to offer a level of protection for your personal goods and to discourage theft in a social, home or professional environment. Who is it aimed at?

There are many possible uses for this product, such as: preventing someone with dementia from accidentally taking too many medications; prevent colleagues or roommates from stealing your food; prevent children or pets from accessing anything that could harm them, such as keeping chocolate out of the reach of dogs; or to lock the phone, game controller or TV remote control from a child who has too much time on the screen.

how good is it

It is made of high-strength, shatter-resistant polycarbonate plastic and should not be used to store or rely on high-value items to prevent individuals who are determined to gain access by force. A four-digit code could be better than a three-digit one, because it wouldn’t take anyone too long to decipher it with time and patience. Changing the code is a very simple process.

It’s a great idea to have vents on the sides – these allow the contents to breathe and allow you to protect your mobile phone when connected to the charger. There are also grooves so the boxes can be easily stacked. Amazon has an impressive overall rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars out of 5,143 reviews.

How much does it cost and is it worth the money?

The Lockabox One costs £ 29.95, which may seem a bit expensive for what is basically a plastic box with a lock. But can you appreciate the safety or even the frustration and inconvenience you may experience if you were looking forward to a toast and found that your colleagues had consumed all the butter you had bought? And it lasts indefinitely, so it can be used over and over again.

Pocketalk Plus

The Pocketalk Plus translator can translate speech and text into a large number of languages

What is it?

The Pocketalk Plus is a portable instant voice translator that can translate 82 languages in more than 130 countries and regions in both directions at the touch of a button, allowing for naturally flowing conversations in different languages. It even takes over localized dialects and slang.

It is a newer and better language translator model than the Pocketalk S. Compared to the Pocketalk S, the Pocketalk Plus has an 85% larger touch screen that allows users to easily translate while maintaining the appropriate social distance when needed. It also has 1.3 times battery life (approximately 192 hours), a powerful speaker and a noise-canceling microphone that helps prevent misinterpretations even on the busiest streets.

The built-in text translation camera also means it can help decrypt public transit information, brands and offers. Pocketalk Plus also has a practice mode for brushing off language skills. It pronounces phrases in different languages, identifies when words are mispronounced, and slowly plays back phrases.

Who is it aimed at?

It is a must for anyone planning to travel abroad this year, for anyone learning a new language, or for anyone who wants to communicate with neighbors, clients or anyone else who may not speak English as their first language.

how good is it

The translators have come a long way since I last used one – smaller, more comprehensive, more accurate and able to read text and hear voices. Unlike many of today’s gadgets, this one is simple, fun, doesn’t ask for your name, email address, address or life history, and works with an incredible number of languages. It can also easily convert currency, length, weight and temperature, which can be very useful when traveling.

With a reasonable knowledge of French, I tested the gadget on the cover of the magazine and translated it from English to French. It worked well on all parts of the envelope except the title, because it didn’t recognize that the first letter, which was much larger, was part of the same word. But I was very impressed. Another challenge for developers is to make the sound sound more natural, because it still sounds like satellite navigation.

How much does it cost and is it worth the money?

Pocketalk Plus costs £ 259 from Pocketalk (including a two-year free mobile data plan, so you don’t have to rely on wifi). The price from Amazon at the time of writing is £ 315.43. If you are an avid traveler or language student, this gadget could be great for you.

If you only need to use the translator occasionally, you may want to use a free service, such as Google Translate, which translates words, phrases, and web pages between English and other languages. On Amazon rating, it has an overall rating of four stars out of 91 reviews. Many reviewers said they tried similar products and you get what you pay for.

It comes with an AC outlet, a DC car socket, three USB-A slots and a USB-C port for fast charging. Thanks to lightning-fast charging technology, you can switch from 0-80% per hour from the socket.

Who is it aimed at?

It is aimed at people who want to take trips around the UK or abroad, as it allows passengers to charge or power laptops, small devices and more at the same time.

how good is it

It has several different outlets, so you can power up to nine devices at once – if needed. There are more port options than a regular power bank and much more power. It feels heavier than I expected, weighs 2.7 kg. I wouldn’t want to carry it in a backpack, even though EcoFlow says it’s light enough for that. It should be noted that the manual says that you can not take it on a plane. You are prompted to download the application and the application will ask you to create an account and grant permission to access the files on your device. Personally, I was not ready to grant the permit.
